This beautifully-crafted vintage dollhouse features a roomy shop floor and a huge glass display window to showcase all your best mini-antiques. Plus, your lucky shop attendant can live upstairs in the cozy attic apartment! A removable panel on the right side of the shop provides access to the shop floor itself, while the cleverly shingled back panel detaches to provide access to the upstairs space.
The signs for this shop were hand-painted by renowned miniaturist/artist George Schlosser. Both the large sign on the front of the store and an additional two-sided, hanging shop sign with wall bracket are included. (Check out the description in this unrelated Ebay listing for some great info on the artist!)
This shop has tons of adorable details, including real brick around the foundation, pine floors downstairs, delicate diamond cedar shingles, ornate trim, and even a tiny bell for the door! (Sadly, the bell doesn't ring, but it sure is cute!)
Based on our research, this vintage dollhouse was built in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Although it is still in amazing shape after all these years, please be aware that the shop does have a few instances of damaged shingles and other small cosmetic imperfections.
The image of this sticker was provided by the smart and helpful folks on r/Dollhouses, who helped us positively identify many of the dollhouses in Ms. J's extensive collection. The drawing on the sticker indicates that the kit for this little shop was designed by Kenneth Ballhagen, of Ballhagen Woodcraft. Please note: This identifying sticker is NOT attached to our Antiques Shop. It's just an internet clue we found, but we thought you might like to see it anyway!
